Ainda as naturezas mortas. A presença, o confronto entre as coisas, o seu peso, o seu poder evocativo. Um jogo acerca de aparências, entre o que parecem ser e o que nos lembram. As imagens surgem de várias formas. Podem aparecer casualmente em frases, em livros, num jornal, noutra imagem. Podem estar na cabeça há muito tempo. São muitas vezes resposta a outras pinturas, ou apenas suas descendentes. Podem estar à porta de casa, no tapete: são os frutos da caça nocturna dos gatos. Aparecem também ao caminhar, ou enquanto se move a terra no jardim (uma arqueologia acidental, do acaso).
Mais que procurar, o trabalho é principalmente estar atento, reconhecer, encontrar.
The still lifes, again. The presence, the confrontation between things, their weight, their evocative power. A game about appearances, between what it appears to be and what they remind us of. The images arise in several ways. They may appear casually in sentences, in books, in a newspaper, in another image. They may be inside the mind for a long time. They are often a response to other paintings, or just their descendants. They may be at the doorstep, on the doormat: they're the fruits of the night hunting by the cats. They also appear when walking, or while moving the earth on the garden (an accidental archeology, by chance).
More than searching, the work is mainly to be aware, to recognize, to find.
